Visits With Jesus

I know that Jesus is always with us; He’s promised to never leave us nor forsake us. He’s promised to be with us always until the end of the world as we know it. I don’t doubt it or question it. It’s settled.

What isn’t so settled are my visits with Jesus. I need to be present in His presence!

I have been learning over the past year and a half that Jesus longs for our presence with Him. And it seems to me that many struggle with finding that consistent time to have visits with Jesus. Busyness, daily activities, disruptions, and lack of discipline are some obvious culprits that interfere. Our spirit is willing, but…!

Some time ago a friend mentioned that he is frequently awakened at three or four o’clock in the morning and found that to be a call to prayer for him. I’ve seen others post on Facebook that if that happens to you, maybe that might be a call to prayer for you too.

I also find myself awake at that time also. Sometimes for half an hour; sometimes for hours. This time has become precious visits with Jesus. Most nights I spend that time praying for people. Inspiration for a new blog post may come like a flood. I also can worship Him in this private, quiet time. The “time” of day is not the main issue; finding a time is. I encourage you to find a time when you can visit Jesus and be present in His presence.

Please know that as the Lord prompts me in these visits, I am praying for you. So many people are going through things that make my needs pale in comparison. You are being lifted up before the Lord.

So, find the time that works for you. You will love being with Jesus. And He’ll be ecstatic that you’re there!
