Perspective

I believe one of the struggles we have is seeing things from God’s perspective. I need to be reminded often of what God has said:

“I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’” -  Isaiah 46:10 NIV

We are unable to see the total picture. We barely see a step or two ahead of us. At times we might even fall into the frustration that we cannot know (or control) what’s ahead. How do we handle the “not knowing?”

Truth be known, we WANT to know. We want to know because we want to control the outcome. We question God as if He would be better off doing things our way. We act as though we know better. But God said in Isaiah, “My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.” This is the essence of sovereignty.

Our perspective will not change until we grasp the enormous truth of God’s sovereignty. When we do grasp it, it doesn’t raise questions but it answers them.

Think of what has happened to you that has affected where you are right now, or think of what you are currently going through. The often posed question, “Why is this happening to me?” is tempered by the assurance that God never gave up control. If you are like me, you’ve probably played the “What if…” game. It’s a futile exercise.

There have been numerous instances in society in the past couple of weeks, as well as our personal situations that cause us concern. The answer is to look at it all from God’s perspective. Look at it through His eyes and then respond to it all the way He would have us respond.

  1. Thank you so much for this Ron. It’s spoke to my heart so much. I always appreciate the fact that you’re just so honest with what you say. Sometimes I think as Christian‘s. We hold back our feelings because we think people are gonna like us less or judge us but really we all have the same weaknesses and I think it’s good to share those because Satan would like us to feel like we’re alone and we never alone
